Bamboozled

In memory of Emmanuel Cocher, French diplomat (1969-2022). Consul General of France in Edinburgh from 2015 to 2019.

premiered at French Institute, Edinburgh, U.K. Fringe Festival. 10 August 2022.

Bamboozled depicts two friends waiting for their house party guests to arrive. Instead of communicating with words, the two performers use their mediums (music and dance). As the waiting time continues, things escalate into other dimensions by illuminating the space with lights and other visuals. Switching between moments of calm and restlessness, the performers, who feel unobserved in their own apartment, share their most vulnerable selves with the audience in moments of joy and anger.
